I submitted an article about this but have not seen anything in the articles section so I hope it's ok to publish details here. The tournament will be played on 21/22 April to World Rules with an estimated first prize of £600. There is more information and an entry form here: 2012 Barnsley Open

Anyone planning on entering this? I know a lot of local players are in but would be interested to hear about people coming from other counties.

Just to weeks to go to this event. A lot of locals entering and quite a few from surrounding Yorkshire towns. Surprisingly not many from the Midlands. It's a good prize fund and good value so I hope we get a few travelling from further away.

We've decided to allow cash on the day entries at no extra cost i.e. £25 providing you are there for 10.30 to get your name in the draw. Anyone wishing to enter is guaranteed plenty of table time because this is a double elim event and we will also run flyers alongside it subject to demand.

As usual pool players do like to leave things to the last minute lol but entries to this are now flooding in. With money added by Rileys the prize pot is looking nice.
Remember to be sure of a place in the draw you need to be there for 10.30 Saturday. If you think you may be late and want to be sure of being in the draw call the club on 01226779347 by 10.30am. Play starts around 11am.
