There was a discussion on here recently about BB rules and at one time it appeared that there was a 'grey area' over a certain situation.

Somebody, I'm afraid I can't remember who, wisely said that the referee makes his decision in WR on what happened rather than what he thinks the player was trying to do.
I've sadly been trying to think of a WR grey area ever since.

What if a player addressed the table but with his bridging hand clumsily knocked the black towards a pocket, it may or may not drop, he then sees what is happening and puts his hand on the black to stop it dead.

For the initial infringement it is a standard foul.
For the subsequent infringement is it either a serious or loss of frame foul. It's sort of covered under both the way I read it but neither to be sure.
FOR GOD'S SAKE!! Why can't people just accept me as the person I pretend to be!

Stopping balls going through the table mechanism is automatic loss of frame at Blackball rules.
