Did anyone else watch it tonight. Thought it was quite good personally.

The bloke was an absolute genius on the table but unfortunately he couldn't control himself off it which is a shame. I don't know how many times, I have watched that 69 break that he made against Jimmy in the semi's of the 1982 worlds but it really is an unbelievable break in regards to the pressure that was on it. Some of the shots were simply awesome.

I watched the documentary on BBC2 last night.

Most of what he did was before my time or at least before my memory.

I remember him winning the 82 Worlds and his wife and baby coming on (the first time something like this had happened. Now everyone does it)

I also remember the interview outside his house for nutting an official but other than that just little bits.

What became clear to me after watching that is that Ronnie O'Sullivan, whether consciously or not has tried to model himself on Higgins.

The flair, crowd pleaser, peoples favourite, nutty, unhinged...the list goes on

I'd like to smash Higgins daughter up the ......... Blushing

It was very warming to hear the kind words people said about the genius.
How did he keep taking the pots on and getting them, in the worlds greatest ever clearance, under the pressure of missing one and leaving the tournament?
Balls of steel! snooker today owes it solely to higgy for bringing the game to the interest of the public. legend!

The documentary on Higgie was very fair, not brushing his many sins under the carpet and allowing the people who knew him well to have their say.

His daughter spoke very well and a credit to him.

No one played quite like Alex and no one every will again.
